Ad Fed is recognized as the premiere resource for educational opportunities and support to encourage students in East Central Indiana to enter advertising or a related career field. We invest part of operating budget to to our student programs which includes: three scholarships, advertising education programs for high school seniors and juniors, support of the BSU/AAF Chapter National Student Advertising Competition. The primary funding source for these student opportunities is through our annual Media and Gift Auction.

2007-2008 Goals and Objectives:

Strategic Goal: To be recognized as the premiere resource for educational and training opportunities to members, AAF Chapter students, and the community to promote the advertising industry.

Strategies/Objectives:

Provide three $1,000 scholarships (including one diversity scholarship) to appropriate students as defined by written criteria.
Provide a $500 contribution for BSU/AAF Chapter NSAC program.
Develop a full day advertising education program for high school juniors and seniors
Increase BSU/AAF Chapter Support

The new site is sharp and organized. Its design is welcoming, and all desired information can be found within two clicks of the mouse. The site is interactive to allow visitors to submit an application for membership and to RSVP for events. RSS feeds included on the home page provide current news related to the marketing and advertising industry.

The website, which has been online since 2004, currently attracts more than 5,600 unique users per month, a figure which continues to grow each year.

High school outreach program sponsored by Ad Fed

MUNCIE—The Advertising Federation of East Central Indiana will provide an educational program opportunity November 17 for area high school juniors and seniors called Connections—Encouraging Tomorrow’s Professionals. Participants in this daylong event will learn first-hand about the advertising industry and related career fields as well as meet local advertising professionals in their respective workplaces. During visits to various participating businesses, students will gain a better understanding of the need for research, creation and placement of advertising in traditional and new media, multi-platform advertising campaigns and marketing strategies as well as employment expectations and educational requirements for those in advertising and related professions.

The day's events will kick off at 8 a.m., with a welcome reception, program and tour of Rutter Communications and Joseph David Advertising. Other businesses students will visit are FuseWork Studios, The Star Press, Pengad-Indy, Inc., WIPB-TV and Indiana Public Radio. Students will also be guests at the November 17 Ad Fed luncheon at the Horizon Convention Center which will start at 11:30 a.m., and includes a feature presentation by Michael Becker, Vice President of Business Development from iLoop-Mobile, located in San Jose, California.

Ad Fed of ECI is part of the American Advertising Federation, a national organization that promotes excellence in advertising. The local club meets regularly to connect, create and inspire professionals involved in advertising and related fields by holding workshops and programs relevant to those interested and working with students to connect them with professional opportunities.
