p.m. Dick Larkin - CEO, Small Business Commandos Dick Larkin is an expert in small businesses online marketing. He founded Small Business Commandos to help local businesses generate leads from the Internet. Consumers previously used the Yellow Pages as their primary resource, but they now overwhelmingly use the Internet to find local information before buying. Recognizing this shift in buying behavior, Small Business Commandos provides tools to assist small businesses to reach these customers. Prior to forming Small Business Commandos, Dick was Vice President of Internet for TransWestern Publishing. TransWestern, a national Yellow Pages company was acquired by Yellow Book in 2005 for $1.6 billion. At TransWestern, Dick managed WorldPages.com, an Internet Yellow Pages that helped over 200,000 small businesses promote themselves on Google, Yahoo!, AOL, MSN, and YellowPages.com. Dick writes and publishes “The Yellow Pages Commando,” an electronic newsletter and website devoted to directory advertising. He is the author of “Ringing Up Profits,” a book demonstrating exactly which elements must be in a Yellow Pages ad to generate the highest number of leads. He earned both his CPA and Certified Financial Planner designations. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Finance. He worked as a student manager for the Fighting Irish Football Team who awarded him the Mad Dog Award and USC game ball for his dedication and enthusiasm.
