Mboya is responsible for distribution, marketing, and promotional plans relevant to the African American market with national scope. Along with other numerous awards, she was inducted into the American Advertising Association Hall of Achievement, a premiere award to honor young professionals 40 and younger who are significantly impacting the advertising industry. Currently, Mboya is charged with developing strategies to grow P&G's market share among African Americans on P&G's Top 15 Brands. She leads the deployment of P&G's African American advertising and marketing initiatives, which include a mission to reach consumers in key markets through relevant and effective media planning. Her approach includes a historic agreement between two top African American agencies, Burrell and Carol H. Williams, a first-ever alliance with the #1 rated Tom Joyner Morning Show, and a cause-related marketing alliance with the United Negro College Fund. During her career, Mboya has been honored for her commitment to advertising excellence. In November 2003, she became the first Procter & Gamble team member to be inducted into the AAF Hall of Achievement and received the Jack Avrett Volunteer Spirit Award. Mboya also received the Corporate Marketing Award in Ebony Magazine's 5th Annual Outstanding Women in Marketing and Communications Awards ceremony in March 2004. She is also a board member of the Advertising Education Foundation, an organization dedicated to elevating the trade's perception as a major economic force. A Kenyan native, Mboya has established three full-time scholarships at Xavier University and Miami University in Ohio for girls from East Africa in need of financial aid. She also volunteers on several Cincinnati community projects and serves as a mentor to several young women at P&G. Mboya is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and received
a Master of Science and doctorate degree in Industrial Pharmacy
