RESERVATIONS: Every weekday morning for the past 12 years on WISH-TV's Daybreak, Dick Wolfsie lends his unique brand of wit and humor to the screen. Whether it's wrestling a bear, velcro jumping, sparring with Soupy Sales or Sumo wrestling you can be sure he'll be doing the unexpected. After 20 years in Indianapolis, this former high school and college English teacher has netted over 5000 hours of live television. Wolfsie's work in live television has netted him over a dozen awards including a regional Emmy for best host, a national ACE award and a Casper Award for five years as host and producer of AM Indiana. He has hosted local talk shows in New York, Chicago, Boston and Columbus, Ohio. Dick also served as a regular host for a series of Multimedia cable talk shows originating in New York and broadcast throughout the US and Canada. Dick also has extensive radio experience, including his own talk show on WIBC. He has written articles for Indianapolis Monthly, The Indianapolis Star, and several national publications. Dick is presently a weekly humor columnist for 15 central Indiana newspapers. His first three books, Life in a Nutshell and Dick Wolfsie's New Book and Indiana Curiosities were best sellers. Dick's newest book, Modern Day Houdini, is the story of local escape artist Bill Shirk. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife Mary Ellen (an administrator at Butler University), and his son Brett.
