| Multicultural versus Ethnic Marketing
RESERVATIONS DUE BY: Al Anderson, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a graduate of Morehouse College, has spent the last 30 years as a pioneer and maverick in the practice of marketing and communications. He is Chairman and Founder of Anderson Communications, Inc. (ACI) which was founded in 1971, making it the second oldest African-American owned marketing and advertising firm in the country. ACI has serviced clients from the corporate and institutional fields. The company has two divisions, one which develops and executes targeted marketing, advertising, promotional and trade marketing programs for clients like: Kroger, Lawry's, Pillsbury, Procter and Gamble, Reebok, KFC, Sara Lee, Quaker Oats, Kraft Foods, Revlon, Chevrolet, and various government agencies including HUD. In his marketing activities, his firm uses "grassroots" approaches to bridge Corporate America with church, civic, and community organizations in the African-American community. The other division of his company develops syndicated radio programs. Al is creator of the three award winning nationally syndicated programs: "Inspirations Across America", a two-hour weekly program of contemporary gospel music which is currently aired in more than 107 cities; "Focus on Women" a daily program that addresses issues affecting African-American women; and "Power Minutes", a one-minute daily motivational thought. He is also President of the American Medical Team for Africa (AMTA). AMTA is a non-profit organization that has donated millions of dollars of medical equipment & supplies to African countries. Its membership is comprised of American doctors, medical students, and volunteers who dedicate their time to help African countries with their medical needs. In addition to his business activities, Al is an ordained minister, the recipient of an honorary Doctorate of Medicine degree, an accredited spiritual and family counselor, has consulted with hundreds of minority-owned businesses and is a frequent speaker on many topics. He is an adjunct Professor of Marketing, an avid auto racing & classic car lover and a collector of African and African-American art. Though he has many achievements, his greatest pride is his family, his wife Jeanette and children Albert III, age 22, April, age 33 and two grandchildren. Connect . Create .
