Program - Selling Good Works - Non-profit organizations are focused on helping the communities they serve. However, to effectively serve the community, there is a need to find donors, raise awareness, and find users for the organization's mission. There is a need to market the organization to potential and current donors, the public, and other audiences. The challenge for most non-profits is trying to achieve multiple goals with these multiple audiences. In addition, the marketing message that must stand out using limited resources in a cluttered and noisy marketplace.

Chris Houchens will address the unique marketing opportunities and challenges faced by charities, public service agencies, and other types of non-profit organizations including:

Important similarities and differences between non-profit and for-profit marketing
How non-profits should develop a marketing plan
Getting the message out to those who need it
Brand Strategies for nonprofits
Effective ways to use a small marketing budget

NEW FOR 2008 THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY - AD FED EAST CENTRAL IN LOCAL ONLY CATEGORY

This category is for all that great work and sweat that went into the project that never ran. (Maybe the client didn’t use it. Maybe a decision was made to pull the work before it ran.) Work will be judged with all professional entries and will be eligible for a Gold or Silver ADDY®. Local only categories are not forwarded to the District ADDY® Competition. Several Ad Clubs throughout the country have included this category in their competition for many years. Ad Fed ECI is adding this category for the 2008 competition.

Because this is a new local only category we are going to extend the entires to those that have been created during the past five years. (January 1, 2002-December 31, 2007) All other entries must be created between January 1 and December 31, 2007.
